March March 17: Mike Welch together with O'Carolon Etcetera!
The Colonial Tavern Experience came to the Customs House and Maritime Museum in Newburyport.
Richard Lueke (Guitar), Cindy McIntire(flute), and Adriene Howard(fiddle) join Mike Welch(lute) as he sang folk, drinking, love and sea songs AND talked about taverns in colonial Massachusetts and in particular, Newburyport!
April: Mike delivered his lecture on Colonial Taverns to a standing room only crowd at the monthly meeting of the Brentwood Historical Society.
May 19, 20, 21: Mike participated in the Escape from Boston reenactment held at the Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm in Newbury and was open to the public. Mike was encamped for the weekend and portrayed Amos Pearson a Newbury carpenter, bringing his entire carpentry display for demonstration!
May 30 Mike delivered a lecture entitled: " What's up with Colonial Reenacting" at the
American Independence Museum in Exeter, NH
June 1 Mike delivered his second in a series of toddler storytimes at The American Independence Museum focusing in on American historical themes.
July 8th Mike attended the Annual summer encampment of Glover's Marblehead Regiment as a ship's carpenter held at Fort Sewall in Marblehead,MA.
August 6 House Of Seven Gables, Salem, MA Sailor/Shantyman, Mike, demonstrating the capstan, flags, sails and the story Revolutionary War privateers.
August 19, Londonderry NH Festival, Colonial Carpenter demonstrating rope-making to all comers!
